MEET CAMBRIA, LWVSPA INTERN

By, LWVSPA Member Bonnie Hough, MPAff, CFRE

Meet Cambria, who is joining the LWVSPA team as an intern for this summer and fall. We’re so glad to have you with us, Cambria!

Meet Cambria Weaver, a senior at UC Santa Cruz who is spending her summer and fall interning with LWVSPA. Her time with the League, which is a part of her degree’s six-month field study capstone project, will be focused on supporting LWV’s Candidate Forums and the Media and Publicity team. Beyond this work, she is excited to dive into all things LWVSPA over the next several months, including assisting with grant writing and program development. Although she isn’t totally sure in what type of role she sees herself after graduation, Cambria hopes to work in the nonprofit sector at the local level helping to affect community change. Cambria wholeheartedly believes that local is where change happens – so you can see why interning with the League was the perfect fit for her!

Cambria’s passion for the League and its work lies in the League’s focus on individual and community empowerment and its emphasis on nonpartisan and fact-based community education. Cambria loves that the League helps make it possible for everyone in our community to stay informed on local issues that affect them and gives them clear and direct avenues to participate civically to better their own community.

Cambria hails from Oregon but has relatives that live locally. Ever since her first visit to St. Pete, she has loved the sense of community she has felt throughout the city. She’s thrilled she can be here this fall to immerse herself in the community she is serving and is looking forward to soaking up all that St. Pete has to offer while she is here – from the Pier and downtown to spending lots of time outdoors in the city’s awesome parks. You can reach Cambria at cambria@lwvspa.org. Reach out and welcome her to the LWVSPA team and our community!
