Engage St. Pete is a project funded by the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg to increase civic engagement across St. Petersburg using research, collaborative partnerships, and innovative educational and design-thinking approaches. The first part of the project uses research and data to explore 24 measures of civic engagement and author the St Pete Civic Health Index Report, a narrative of the key findings and opportunities to improve the civic health of St Pete. We will work with 2 national partners, develop the Engage St Pete Collaborative, a partnership made up of St Pete community stakeholders, and use both traditional and design thinking approaches to find innovative solutions to the opportunities identified in the Report. Concurrently, we will deliver innovative and experiential civics education and advocacy training and work with high school and college students to develop their civic engagement leadership skills.
