DESCRIPTION:As one of the most active advocacy and policy education groups in Pinellas County\, our League’s current issues include voter engagement\, education\, and protection; reproductive rights; public schools/education; the National Popular Vote; redevelopment of the Historic Gas Plant District; immigrant rights; expansion of Early Voting sites; and opposing mid-decade redistricting. \n\n\n\nThis Orientation is designed to orient folks who are curious about the League\, as well as those who’ve been members for less than a year. \n\n\n\nOur aim is for everyone to find what interests them and get involved expediently. \n\n\n\nWe will meet in the Chapel at Allendale UMC. DESCRIPTION:RSVP for Zoom Forum Here\n\n\n\n\nThe Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association (TBTLA) is excited to announce our upcoming Judicial Candidate Forums\, featuring judicial candidates in the Tampa Bay area. The events are being co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Hillsborough and Pasco Counties\, the League of Women Voters of North Pinellas County\, the League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area\, the League of Women Voters of Polk County\, and the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Trial & Litigation Section. \n\n\n\nPlease join us on June 18th at 12:00 p.m. via Zoom to hear candidates for the 6th judicial circuit. After brief opening remarks from our sponsors at each event\, the judicial candidates will have the opportunity to discuss their candidacy and field questions from the audience. A moderator from TBTLA will guide the discussion. Since the events will take place via Zoom\, we just ask that if you are able\, to keep your camera on during the event so that the candidates can see the participants. The League has been working diligently to reach voters in these newly added areas to ensure that all voters have access to reliable\, nonpartisan information. \n\n\n\nDemocrat candidates for US House D-16 will answer questions developed by the League of Women Voters of Manatee County\, along with questions submitted at least one week before the forum. DESCRIPTION:Candidates for Mayor of the City of St. Petersburg will appear at a candidate forum on Thursday\, June 18\, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.  \n\n\n\nThe forum will take place at the SPC Gibbs Campus Music Center\, located at 6605 5th Ave. N.\, St. Petersburg FL 33710. Parking is free. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. \n\n\n\nHosted by the League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area and co-sponsored by Tampa Bay Association of Black Journalists\, SPC’s Center for Civic Learning & Community Engagement\, CONA St. Pete (Council of Neighborhood Associations)\, Interfaith Tampa Bay and the Pinellas County Urban League.  \n\n\n\nDue to expected attendance\, registration is required and will be limited to 230 attendees. \n\n\n\n\n\n		RSVP Here\n\n\n\n\nThe candidate forum will give voters an opportunity to hear directly from candidates about the issues that matter most to the St. Petersburg community ahead of the election scheduled for August 18\, 2026. Voters are invited to submit questions both in advance of the forum and during the event. Submit questions ahead of time here. \n\n\n\nDr. Tara Newsom\, SPC faculty and Director of the Center for Civic Learning and Community Engagement\, will introduce the candidates\, and Trevor Pettiford\, Veteran Journalist and member of the TBABJ\, will guide the discussion. \n\n\n\nAll candidate forums sponsored by the League of Women Voters follow a nonpartisan\, unbiased\, and impartial format\, in keeping with League principles. \n\n\n\nThe forum is free and open to the public.
