SUMMARY:No Kings: VOTE EARLY Giant Human Letters
DESCRIPTION:Join us to create a large visual display using human lettering to spell out VOTE EARLY. \n\n\n\nRSVP here: https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/1026318/More event details here: https://tinyurl.com/txzkajtc \n\n\n\nVoter service organizations will be available to provide information and assistance about early voting\, voting rights\, voter registration\, voter protection\, volunteer opportunities\, and more. \n\n\n\nThis event is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of St. Petersburg\, Indivisible St Pete\, Common Cause\, and the National Organization for Women (NOW). \n\n\n\nWe decide who represents us. We decide what comes next. \n\n\n\nFor more than a year\, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings\, billionaires\, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law. \n\n\n\nNow\, we are taking the next step\, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions\, No Kings: Vote Early\, is not purely a protest. Instead\, on October 17th\, it’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing our community together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard. \n\n\n\nBecause no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th\, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones\, no crowns\, no kings. \n\n\n\nNo Kings: Vote Early events are nonpartisan and are designed to increase participation from all eligible voters. \n\n\n\nA core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind\, including those legally permitted\, should not be brought to events.

SUMMARY:Pinellas County Jail Tour: Immigration Justice Action Team
DESCRIPTION:(Moved from 9/23) \n\n\n\nHave a question for Sheriff Gualtieri? Immigration Justice is collecting questions from League members ahead of our October 15\, 2026\, 9:00 a.m. Pinellas County Jail tour led by Sheriff Gualtieri. Submit questions about immigration justice\, ICE detention and 287(g)\, local resource allocation\, jail conditions\, or voting access and civic participation. Submissions close September 30\, after which tour attendees will review and vote on the questions to submit to the Sheriff. We will also document his responses and report back to the broader League. Submit as many questions as you like HERE \n\n\n\nThe Pinellas County Jail is where people arrested through local immigration enforcement efforts\, including those subject to immigration detainers under the county’s 287(g) program\, may be held. Understanding what happens inside the jail—and how immigration enforcement intersects with local jail operations—is an important part of understanding our role as community members and civic advocates. The jail is publicly funded and operates under the oversight of our elected officials. Visiting the facility gives us an opportunity to better understand how these policies affect our community\, ask questions\, and engage our local officials in their responsibility to exercise oversight. \n\n\n\nThe tour is limited to 12 people. Tour is now full – join the waitlist here

SUMMARY:Community Centered Development Team Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Smart development centers people and planet at the heart of city planning\, managing growth sustainably and equitably to put the public good over narrow individual benefits for any one stakeholder group\, geographic area or private business interest or sector. It’s a great way to strengthen democracy and public participation between election days where it affects us most – our own backyards. \n\n\n\nWith such a broad topic in a rapidly changing coastal city facing the pressures of climate change\, shifting demographics and economic development\, it’s an exciting time to get involved\, show some love to the place you live\, and be a part of shaping its future. \n\n\n\n\n\n RSVP for Zoom
