DESCRIPTION:Join the LWVSPA for the third of its’ bimonthly series of interactive videoconferences\, hosted by the Membership Committee\, to allow members to get to know one another and the League. Ilene Robeck\, M.D.\, the presumptive new LWVSPA Health Care Action Team Lead\, will be our guest for April.  \n\n\n\nMembership Chair\, Amy Weintraub\, will pepper Dr. Robeck with prepared questions about racial disparities in health care delivery and outcomes\, asking our guest to reflect on her vast experience and study of this issue. Participants will feed more questions via chat.  \n\n\n\nZoom features will be put to use to make this hour of conversation as interactive as possible\, including the use of breakout “rooms” for small group discussion\, as well as the use of the poll feature for trivia questions and opinion sharing. \n\n\n\nNote: This is an event for members only. \n\n\n\nRegister in advance for this meeting. DESCRIPTION:Hundreds of bills that will make it harder to vote are making their way through state legislatures around the country right now\, including here in Florida. And this is happening even though Florida just saw one of its most successful elections in recent history.   \n\n\n\nSo what do these bills mean for us as voters? If they pass\, how will they impact our choices and access when it comes to voting? And how can we make our voices heard on this issue? \n\n\n\nWe’ll discuss these subjects and more at “The Freedom to Vote: Voter Rights\, Choices and Access\,” a live streamed\, online panel discussion featuring panelists Pinellas County Supervisor Julie Marcus and League of Women Voters of Florida President Patti Brigham and moderated by Stephanie Owens\, founder of Women Talk Black. \n\n\n\nRegistration is required. SUMMARY:2021 Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Once a year our St. Pete League membership gathers to vote on bylaws changes\, budget\, new board members\, and most importantly\, which issues we’ll champion in the year ahead. We need your vote! For continued health and safety our meeting will conducted by Zoom. Won’t you join us? \n\n\n\nAn email was sent to all League members at least one month prior to the Annual Meeting for your review.  It included the proposed; Budget\, Bylaws\, Board\, and Programs (as presented at Program Planning).  You can find all documents for the Annual Meeting on our website.  Please review the proposals ahead of time and submit any questions or feedback to the Board via this form.  You may also email Julia Sharp\, office@lwvspa.org\, with any questions or concerns.  You will also have the opportunity to ask and discuss during the Annual Meeting on April 17 via Zoom.  As a reminder only dues paying members will be eligible to vote during the Annual Meeting.  Registration is required for the Annual Meeting to allow for time to confirm\, or remedy\, an active membership.
