League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area To Host City of St. Petersburg Mayoral Candidate Forum
St. Petersburg, FL — Candidates for Mayor of the City of St. Petersburg will appear at a candidate forum on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
The forum, hosted by the League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area and co-sponsored by Tampa Bay Association of Black Journalists, SPC’s Center for Civic Learning & Community Engagement, CONA St. Pete (Council of Neighborhood Associations) and Interfaith Tampa Bay, will take place at the SPC Gibbs Campus Music Center, located at 6605 5th Ave. N., St. Petersburg FL 33710. Parking is free. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m.

The candidate forum will give voters an opportunity to hear directly from candidates about the issues that matter most to the St. Petersburg community ahead of the election scheduled for August 18, 2026. Voters are invited to submit questions both in advance of the forum and during the event. Submit questions ahead of time here.
Dr. Tara Newsom, SPC faculty and Director of the Center for Civic Learning and Community Engagement, will introduce the candidates, and Trevor Pettiford, Veteran Journalist and member of the TBABJ, will guide the discussion.
All candidate forums sponsored by the League of Women Voters follow a nonpartisan, unbiased, and impartial format, in keeping with League principles.
The forum is free and open to the public. The forum will be recorded by the Tampa Bay Association of Black Journalists and the accredited Press. No other recordings will be allowed.
