The League’s Stance on Reproductive Rights
The Reproductive Rights Action Team affirms and advocates for equal and safe access to the full range of reproductive health care – from abortion to birth control to evidence-based sex education. The group works to increase participation through letter-to-the-editor campaigns, educational films, discussions, book studies, forums, and events.
GETTING ABORTION RIGHTS ON THE 2024 BALLOT
Any interference with the doctor-patient relationship poses a serious threat to women’s health. The St. Petersburg area LWV is working hard on efforts to amend the state constitution in support of reproductive freedom. Join our out-in-the-community campaign to collect petitions by clicking on the button above. This is the team’s highest priority through December 2023.
All Florida voters are urged to complete a petition to get abortion rights on next November’s ballot.
Step 1: Download the Petition
The full text of the amendment is a separate document referenced on the petition, and does not need to be printed or sent in with your petition.
Step 2: Fill Out the Petition
If you have Adobe Acrobat you can fill out your the petition on the computer before printing it. If you are filling it out by hand, be sure to write legibly and no cross-outs. If you make a mistake start a new petition. It is very important to fill out the petition correctly to avoid having it thrown out. We want every petition counted.
- Enter your name and address as it appears on your voter registration.
- Include your date of birth or your voter registration number.
- The petition asks for your COUNTY, not your COUNTRY. Do not write in “USA.”
- No abbreviations.
Step 3: Print and Sign the Petition
Make sure everything prints clearly. Be sure to sign and date the petition by hand, using only blue or black ink.
Step 4: Return Your Signed Petition
Return your signed petition by one of the two methods listed below.
