Greetings from Susan Dickson, LWVSPA Administrative Specialist

I’m a local gal! I grew up in Clearwater, and I moved to St. Pete as soon as I was able. I currently live in Historic Kenwood – I love the walkability and bikeability of St. Pete.

My husband and I have a wild and crazy toddler girl (she’ll be two in May!), a noisy punk band, and a sweet little rescue dog that looks like Toto. When I’m not playing the drums in my band, I’m riding my bike around town or kayaking the beautiful spring-fed rivers of Central FL. I’m also a visual artist, working mostly in ink and watercolor.

Prior to coming to work for the League I had a wonderful 10 year career with the St. Petersburg Library System, the last 3 years of which I was the Coordinator of the James Weldon Johnson Community Library. It’s all about the people for me! I’m very community-oriented and I’m already extremely impressed with the dedication, engagement, and activist spirit of the volunteers at the LWVSPA. I’m eager to work in an administrative capacity to support the League in its mission of voter education and empowerment.

Before taking this position I was most familiar with the Voter Guide – I used it at every election, especially local elections that often receive less media coverage. I sent it to my friends too!  I’m happy to be here, and I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Reach out by emailing office@lwvspa.org if I can help in any way!
