February 22 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Tombolo Books is presenting this event in partnership with the League of Women Voters of the St. Pete Area.
In this first book-length biography of John Lewis, Raymond Arsenault traces Lewis’s upbringing in rural Alabama, his activism as a Freedom Rider and leader of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, his championing of voting rights and anti-poverty initiatives, and his decades of service as the “conscience of Congress.”
Join local historian and author Dr. Raymond Arsenault at Allendale United Methodist Church for a discussion of In Search of the Beloved Community: John Lewis.
Arsenault will be in conversation with Civil Rights activist Dr. Bernard LaFayette, Jr.
